Asian Wings Airways was incorporated since 17 September, 2010, as a private airline in Myanmar and successfully inaugurated on 27 January, 2011. Asian Wings currently offers regular flights to the major tourist and commercial destinations in Myanmar: Yangon, Mandalay, Bagan, Heho, Myeik, Dawei and Kawthaung. With effective from 15th of October 2011, Asian Wings is also operating code-share flights to Tachileik, Kyaing Tong, Lashio, Myitkyina, Putao, Kalay, Monywa, Homalin, Kyaukpyu, Sittwe, Pathein, Thandwe and Bhamo with Air Bagan. Air Mandalay Limited, the first regional joint venture airline in Myanmar, comprises of two ATR 72-212s and one ATR 42-320. Air Mandalay is the only airline in Myanmar with the approval from European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and both local and foreign pilots are also trained at Avions de Transport Regional's (ATR) training facilities. Selection and training of the cabin crew is also aimed at providing high levels of service consistent with Myanmar's gentle traditions. Air Mandalay currently operates to nine destinations from Yangon to: Bagan, Mandalay, Heho, Thandwe, Sittwe, Tachileik, Dawei, Myeik and Kawthaung and also offers air chartered services to destinations both within the country and regionally.

Yangon Airways was established in October 1996 as one of the domestic airlines of the Union of Myanmar. Yangon Airways has been reinstated its Aircraft Operating Certificate after almost a year of suspension by the Department of Civil Aviation and resuming its regular flights since October 16, 2011 to Bagan, Mandalay, Heho, Kyaing Tong, Tachileik, Lashio and chartered flights to Dawei, Myeik, Kawthaung from main hub at Yangon International airport.
